We love to travel for weddings so when we were asked to shoot Jenn + Ryan’s outdoor wedding in Winston Salem, we couldn’t turn it down. It also helped that they ended up being an AWESOME couple! Ryan has one of the coolest jobs at the Bronx Zoo… he works with the reptiles and amphibians. They wanted to include that in their wedding planning without it being creepy. They completely accomplished that by having subtle hints of creatures in their save-the-dates. They also had super cool pins for each of the guys to wear with their boutonnieres. Even the adorable ring bearer had a turtle tie pin. Speaking of the ring bearer… he and the beautiful flower girl, Macey, became instant friends from the second they met. Sometimes, it is a challenge to get the little ones to allow us to take their photos. Not for those two. They were both happy to pose for the camera all day and they preferred to pose together.
When Jenn and Ryan told us about their venue, they kept saying that they really wanted photos on the bridge. We were envisioning a tiny bridge like what you see to cross a small pond. We were not expecting such a huge and magnificent wooden bridge! It was absolutely gorgeous and just had to be the spot for their First Look. Thanks to Ashley, the maid of honor, for blocking the tourist while they had their first few moments together. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot.
